Alison Bernstein is the founder of the Suburban Jungle, a real estate firm exclusively focused on buyers leaving the city for the suburbs. Recognizing how different neighboring towns can be from one another and how little families learn about a community during the home search, Alison launched Suburban Jungle, helping buyers navigate suburbia, and understand the ins and outs of towns before making their decision. She had personally experienced these challenges while undertaking her own suburban search, and strived to bring that unique expertise to Suburban Jungle families. Prior to this launch, Alison worked in the industry for more than 15 years, including senior-level roles in sales, leasing, investment banking and corporate strategic work spanning three of the nation’s leading real estate organizations. She has revolutionized the real estate industry by creating this new advisory pre-search component to the home buying process. When she’s not helping families in their suburban explorations, Alison enjoys traveling, skiing and tennis as well as spending time at home with her husband and four young children …and huge dog.

Best Advice to Other Entrepreneurs:
“Just do it, don’t spend so much time to come up with an idea and wonder if it’s great, every day there is an opportunity to create something or do something better and as a reminder, every company large and small, every concept started with just one idea, somebody not just putting pen to paper but really just going out there and getting that first client and getting it done. Don’t get caught up in the paperwork, don’t get caught up in the plan, sometimes you just have to seize that opportunity right away before it goes away”…[Listen for More]

Other Quotes From the Chat with Alison Bernstein:
“So many people will try to teach you to be an entrepreneur or they’ll teach you to write a business plan or they’ll teach you the accounting, you can take all those tools but ultimately the whole world and this is something that is underestimated, some people say oh I’m going to be a doctor when I grow up or I’m going to be an attorney, at the end of the day those people still have to be entrepreneurs because you could be the best doctor in the world, if nobody knows you’re the best doctor, if you can’t get people to come to your practice then you’re nothing, so ultimately the doctors are business people and entrepreneurs and the attorneys”
