When business started difficulties overcame:
“I think what people don’t realise when they start being your own boss is the other things. Like you are good at what you do… For me I have always loved accounting and I love doing tax returns as weird as that is… And the work but I think there is a lot of other things that come into play when you start to really own your own company like marketing or how do you get your name out? How do you prove you have this different way of doing things? How do you prove it? So, I think that was probably the hardest part was really trying to say obviously you want to get more clients so what are those other things that I have to do other than just accounting to make that happen?”…[Listen for More]

Other Quotes From the Chat with Anne Gannon:
- “I think there’s similarities to sports is very true… I think at the beginning if I had understood that you are just getting better as an owner and entrepreneur every day. At the beginning it was very easy to be hard on myself and say well I don’t understand, I was a good accountant and here I am as a business and everything feels like it’s all over the place and I don’t know what I’m doing. And I think understanding that you are not going to be perfect but you are getting better. So, if you really look back and say well it’s true every year we got better and every year we built more of our process and we have more of a standard way of doing things. We just evolved. But I think that’s true with every entrepreneur where It’s easy to kind of it doesn’t work out right away you are very hard on yourself and you say we are doing something wrong. Really it’s like the pro athletes they weren’t role for ever they’ve had to get better and I think that’s true with entrepreneurs as well ”
- “I think it’s definitely not letting your emotions getting the best of you to really say objectively if this was a client of mine what would I tell them to do? Because I think we all know what your business should do but I think it’s hard emotion because there is days, we don’t want to do it or there is days where we are hurt or whatever it is. But I think the people who are able to be very consistent, do what they have to do every day that those are the ones that get better. Because I think there is a lot of emotion and beginning, it’s never as perfect as we think going to be but if we really start to stay true to our vision and we are consistent then I think that is where the success comes from”
- “don’t give up, you just have to believe that you are going to get out of it and you are going to find a way and don’t let your mind go anywhere else but the future”
