Entrepreneurial Role Models:
When business started difficulties overcame:
“The biggest obstacle I had to overcome is the belief that I could do it. I did the things that most people do, I think. Is you go to school, you go to school, you go to school, you get your career, you get your job – building somebody else’s dreams? And you do that and you (you are going to get a raise and you try to figure out the game perhaps if there is one. And then I realised that I have an entrepreneurial soul and I became a corporate entrepreneur – meaning an entrepreneur within an organisation… With that I built up enough courage to start to be okay with dabbling and failing and trying again. And I guess that the biggest fear was just the uncertainty and the belief that I could do it”…[Listen for More]

Other Quotes From the Chat with Carolyn Colleen:
- “it’s the fear, getting out of your own way. I had a big fear of success. Meaning I knew I had a valuable product; I knew I had tested the market; I had done a whole lot of market research and product testing. The thing is, is I knew once I that it was going to be successful and then that meant okay that means my lifestyle is going to change, that means that my security is going to change. That means that I have to change everything that I had set up. And so what happens when it’s really successful? Does that mean that I have to sacrifice my family? Or does that mean that I have to sacrifice my health? And those were big concerns which actually turned into more of a fear of success. So, I had to re-evaluate my definition of what that meant in that I get to choose how my schedule runs and I get to choose when things continually get busier and busier and busier, I have to choose to let go and outsource”
- “the secret to success is habit. So, having the vision, identifying that goal and following through with habit. Setting up boundaries and parameters for yourself that you are continually doing and moving toward that overall vision whether you feel like it or not. Because a lot of times what happens is you might not feel like doing something which could sabotage a lot of your systems that you have in place. Just set up the systems and do those things and then you have so much more time. You do the hard things now so that you don’t have to do for the rest of your life”
- “I am continually learning and I am a lifelong learner”
