When business started difficulties overcame:
“I decided to start my own law firm… I had difficulties but they were relatively small because I was just a natural at transitioning from the big firm… I think the biggest thing I had to overcome was going out to get my own clients versus relying on the firm to feed me business… That was a pretty smooth transition. The bigger difficulty came when I started this business 12 years ago because when I started this business, I had a story in my head that said I can’t start this business now because I need to get some other things squared away in my life. The biggest difficulty was believing that there is such a thing as a right time… What I learned when I started this business and was almost shoved into it when I lost my job due to the last recession when I realised one of the biggest lessons ever which is it’s always the right time for the right thing”…[Listen for More]

Best Advice to Other Entrepreneurs:
“you already have everything that you need just be bold and trust that it and you will be okay. That’s a simple thing but so many of us are worried about not being okay in some world because we are going to succeed, we are going to fail whatever it is. Trust that it, whatever you are trying to create, and you will be okay. So just be bold”…[Listen for More]

Other Quotes From the Chat with Jeff Nischwitz:
- “I have to work at not working”
- “be aware that the idea that working hard is what it takes to be successful is an absolute lie. Success is not dependent on working hard”
- “I did this myself in my first entrepreneurial venture I told myself that I have to work hard. And here is the big lie Neil. I said I have to be at work all of the time because I am doing it for my family so it’s okay if I’m not there for my family because what I am creating is for them. And that is the lie that traps so many entrepreneurs. Because there is a difference between what’s really for your family and what’s really for you ”
- “better understand how critical it is to have context of things… We tend to focus on information but information only matters to the point of context… how easy it is to get caught up in the details. And even if the details are important, they are not at your level of importance. So, we have got to stay out of the details”
- “bark face… Where your face is so pressed up against the tree and the details you don’t even see the tree. All you feel is this bark pressing into your face”
- “how naturally it is and how logical it seems for me to get involved in the details when in fact I need to figure out what I do best and how I bring value to this organisation and the team and do as much of that is possible. And when I got there business just exploded in such a beautiful way…”
- “Presence… The idea of living in the present and being more present is often tucked away and said that’s some sort of religious thing , that’s some sort of eastern thinking. It’s not, it’s a nature of being. Because when I more present I make better decisions. When I more present people around me have a greater experience of feeling valued and that they matter and they are cared about. When I present, I don’t experience much stress or fear or uncertainty. When I present, I make better decisions because I see the whole picture through my presence. So, the big one for me is learning to live and experience life more in the present”
- “I created a word called ‘changeitude’… My definition of ‘changeitude’ … I’m going to acknowledge that change is inevitable. Change is inevitable and therefore I am going to embrace that inevitability and I going to choose to purposefully create change rather than be a victim of it. And that is a decision we can all make. When I embrace that reality my experience and my outcome and my impact, they all change dramatically almost overnight”
- “the most important thing I can do is grow myself as a person and leader. So, I go to resources that will help grow me”
