Entrepreneurial Role Models:
When business started difficulties overcame:
“one of the biggest difficulties… Is when I transitioned into selling companies. There is a lot of things I didn’t know and I kind of learned on the job. My very first closing I went to the closing without a lease because I asked the closing attorney hey the landlord is out of town, out of the country and I think we should postpone the closing until she gets back so that we can have a lease. He said we don’t need a lease we can do this. Well of course we go to closing buyer and seller and they are like where is the lease? And I said well the attorney said we don’t need a lease. And he said I never said that. He completely threw me under the bus and make me look like a complete moron. In my buyer and seller were very upset with me. We couldn’t close on the business and I never made that mistake again”…[Listen for More]

Best Advice to Other Entrepreneurs:
“plan your exit from day one of starting or buying a business because the biggest mistake that business owners make is that they don’t plan their exit. They don’t think about selling until a catastrophic event has occurred, internal or external and then they think about selling. Or they get burned out and they are like 65 years old and I am tired I don’t want to do this anymore”…[Listen for More]

Other Quotes From the Chat with Michelle Seiler Tucker:
- “all entrepreneurs kind of get stuck in their ways and used to doing things their way… I think it’s important from the beginning to align yourself with an expert, with a mentor who has already been down your road, your path. It doesn’t necessarily have to be that you align yourself with an expert who is in your specific industry but align yourself with an expert who is extremely successful because the values and the strategies and techniques of successful entrepreneurs are all pretty similar ”
- “your network equals your net worth”
- “think the secrets to success is 1. Really having a burning desire to succeed. You have to want it. There are so many people who do nothing with their lives, there is so many people who just sit on a couch all day, there is so many people who have so many great core competences and intelligence but they just waste their life away. So, I think you just have to have a burning desire to succeed. You have to have perseverance. You have to have that determination no matter what you are going to reach your goals, no matter what you are going to be all you can be…”
- “So many entrepreneurs try to do everything at once. You know like I’ve got 10 ideas. You know what that’s great that you’ve got 10 ideas, narrow it down to 1. What are you working on right now? Pick one thing because nobody can do 10 things well, nobody can do five things well, nobody can do three things well. Narrow it down to 1.”
- “The only way to really grow your business is to get out of the transactional and really become transformational. Transformational thinking, transformational questions, implementation, integration et cetera”
