When business started difficulties overcame:
“figuring out my value… Just figuring out what my work was really really worth was hard for me because I loved the company that I was working with and I didn’t have a true understanding of what I should be charging as a consultant. And I didn’t just want to charge an hourly rate that I pulled out of the sky. I knew enough about pricing based off of the value that you deliver. And so that was a real journey for me early on and I like many business owners in MySpace priced myself to low and then I had to work really hard on myself a) to believe I was worth a higher rate and to increase my values and quite frankly increase the calibre client”…[Listen for More]

Best Advice to Other Entrepreneurs:
“believe in your ideas but work on your abilities. So what I mean by that is I believe ideas are a dime a dozen and the difference between somebody who is successful is somebody who puts action behind those ideas. But we also have to recognise that we don’t know what we don’t know and so I think that a lot of entrepreneurs fail because they are overly confident about their abilities and they are not willing to admit the areas where they have gaps. But also be aware of where you need to grow and invest in those areas”…[Listen for More]

Other Quotes From the Chat with Madeline Pratt:
- “I definitely think I could have cut my learning curve by a little bit had I just put the right community around me a little bit earlier on in my business”
- “I would have hired a coach”
- “even coaches need coaches. When you think about the top performers in the world be they athletes or be they people in the business world behind-the-scenes there is somebody who is keeping them accountable and cheering them on. And especially when you are the leader of an organisation and you don’t necessarily have somebody in your direct vicinity that you can go to…”
- “I think success is really about the way we focus our mindset and really it’s about a lifestyle… The most successful people in the world are people who success is something they live and breathe and eat and sleep every single day. And so they have structured their lives to be more successful. They read books and listen to podcasts to learn from other people because they know they are not the smartest person in the room but they know that there is other people out there that know more than them and that they can emulate their behaviour… Success is an ongoing practice not just something that happens in the instant”
