“because I went into business at age 32, I suppose I was quite late… It was actually knowing what to do… I didn’t really have the first idea how to really make money… I struggle to know what to do, it took me a long time to find my groove, a long-time find what I could make money at that I really enjoyed where it wasn’t going to be a life sentence, it was going to be something I could thrive doing. And that really took me 10 years. I tried a lot of things and failed. I tried a few businesses; I had a chain of greengrocer’s shops and that had all sorts of staff issues and rent issues and property issues. That was a difficult one, I decided I didn’t want to do retail, it wasn’t me. I had an energy franchise with my husband which was all B2B selling. Again, it wasn’t a saleable business because it was a franchise so I learned a hard lesson from that, don’t build something that you can’t sell.
