Other Quotes From the Chat with Leigh Ashton:
- “and love seeing the lightbulb moments. I love people realising that they are more than they thought they were”
- “it is really a good idea if it at all possible to take it step-by-step. So if you want to start your own business if you can do it part-time without giving up your job I would most certainly do that until you get to the stage where maybe you can become part-time”
- “always reach out for help. There are so many people who are willing to give you the benefit of their wisdom based on their experience. Be very careful who you ask advice from. Do not ask friends and family who care about you as a human being to give you advice on business unless they can be objective and they have done what you want to achieve. For example do not ask a family member who has been in a job a really long time what they would do in business because they haven’t got the experience to give you sensible advice”
- “network with other business owners, other start-ups, get online look things up about case studies and examples of how people are doing what you want to do. It doesn’t mean you have to model them but you can learn from everybody and decide what the right model is for you.”
- “Be very clear who you are selling to. Who is your target audience?”
- “Step outside of your comfort zone. You cannot get better results or bigger results if you stay in your comfort zone”
